Tvind Alert is a not-for-profit research group.
Our object is to investigate and expose the ‘aid organisation’ Humana People-to-People, or ‘Tvind’. We are a loosely structured collaboration between ordinary citizens, people with inside knowledge, journalists and a few aid professionals. We are driven by a shared desire to get to the truth. Anyone can join us.
Our method is to gather facts and information, seek to understand them, and pass them on to the wider world. In addition to this web site, we are in the process of establishing a network of investigative journalists in many countries.
We do our own research, and we encourage others to join in. Every month we receive several dozen emails from informants – personal accounts, inside information, pictures, leaked documents, often appeals for help. We are a kind of WikiLeaks of the aid industry. When we can – we don’t currently have the capacity to act straight away on every email – we check the veracity of what is sent to us and then publish a story on www.tvindalert.com. After that, we encourage local journalists and officials to follow up – at any one time, we are generally talking to journalists in several countries. If possible, we prefer to work directly with the media as a trusted source. We hold a huge database of information in addition to facts published on the web site, with a confidential archive of hundreds of files. By working with journalists, we can help them to write truly investigative stories – and we intend to do more of this.
Everything we do is voluntary and we do not ask for payment for information.
