Forestry and logging companies
The Malaysian company conducting the Teachers Group’s Malaysian timber trade today is McCorry & Co, based in Borneo, and run by Jonas Israel. Associated companies we have found registered in the USA are: Allwood McCorry Trading Company, Allwoods Trading Company Ltd, McCorry (USA) Corp, McCorry Timber Ltd Inc and McCorry & Co Limited Inc.
In 1990-1992, according to Danish police, Tvind used several timber businesses in Malaysia as fronts for money laundering to buy property in the USA and Brazil. The companies, South China Sea Trading Company and Nasib Daya SB, were owned by the Jersey-registered Teachers Group company Fairbank, Cooper and Lyle, under the direction of TG member Kim Bonde Andersen. According to police, the Teachers Group was attempting to pass off forestry concessions as ‘nature projects’.
