Local informants have told us there was a severe flood in December 2009, which led to the school, in Etna, California, being evacuated. The building is for sale at $229,000. The CCTG website is silent on this event and we await any further information about whether CCTG will relocate.

Dutch Government refuses Humana funding

Humana Holland applications for public funding have been turned down by the Dutch government. The decision represents a U-turn by the government, which sparked a row in 2007 when it authorised a donation of more than €8 million of public money to Humana, despite the organisation’s poor reputation. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has turned down a new application for €39 million over four years made jointly by Humana Holland and two other Dutch development organisations.

DAPP UK

Posted by investigator On March - 17 - 2010

Our newly restored page on DAPP UK, the Teachers Group’s only registered charity collecting clothes in the UK.   This was set up in 2007, ten years after Humana UK was closed down by the Charity Commission.   It is recruiting volunteers from abroad to work as low-paid or unpaid  ‘charity trainees’, leaflets for clothes, has drop-in bins and shops and may run a ‘school’.  Please tell us of any new information.

WANTED:  Can any reader supply a picture of a DAPP-UK clothes bin or shops?

Hot property: Fisher Island

Posted by investigator On March - 17 - 2010

Our restored page on the two luxury apartments bought by the Teachers Group on the private ‘millionaire’s retreat’ of Fisher Island, off Miami.   One apartment, valued at $6m, was bought using offshore companies in 1991.    A second, smaller apartment was bought ‘for Amdi Petersen’s dog’ in 2000.  Police made inquiries and both apartments have now been sold.

Hot money: Jersey and Guernsey

Posted by investigator On March - 5 - 2010

Two new files listing key Teachers Group companies in the offshore tax havens of Jersey and Guernsey, notorious for their low tax and banking secrecy.  The Teachers Group uses several of these companies today to direct income from its colleges and used clothes companies into offshore accounts.

Five Jersey companies active today own many of the Tvind schools, plantations, and clothes businesses, as well as the multi-million dollar complex in Mexico. We have also identified ten dissolved Jersey companies and six dissolved Guernsey companies. Many were active in the 1980s-90s and several have been investigated by police for alleged money laundering and hot money transfers in connection with property deals in Brazil.

Humana back in Belgium

Recently, a new second hand textile shop (Vintage) was opened in Ghent (Ajuinlei 15), under the name of  “HUMANA / BALTIC TEXTILE TRADING”.

A quick investigation learned that “Baltic Textile Trading” (Ltd) was established in Belgium since 2007, by “Humana People to People Baltic” (society of public interest) in Vilnius, Lithuania. Since then, direction and official address changed several times.

The Belgian company, employing more than 10 people, is not making profit (this is not a surprise).
