Amdi Petersen arrested in Los Angeles - click here

On April 25th 2001 Danish police raided eight Tvind addresses, including schools, apparently looking for evidence of fraud and tax evasion.     Tvind has portrayed this as heavy-handed victimisation and an act of political repression and spite by the Danish state.      However seven leaders of the Tvind movement have been charged, court hearings are taking place, an extensive police investigation is under way and it seems likely that full charges will follow next year.

The seven are:

Amdi Petersen.     Just arrested by the FBI in Los Angeles and being extradited to Denmark

Poul Joergensen.     Questioned by police and has made court appearances

Bodil Ross Soerensen

Kirsten Larsen

Malene Gunst

Ruth Sejeroe Olsen

Steen Byrner

(charges against Eva Vestergaard were dropped on 8th February 2002, and the last four more names added)

The charges relate to the Humanitarian Foundation, a Tvind financial fund, and the use of some 75million Danish kroner (Dkr)  -  approximately  6m.    The official purpose of the foundation was to support scientific research, the environment and humanitarian causes.

Amdi Petersen was not a member of the board, but the police are trying to prove that he had influence to a degree that de facto qualifies him as a member or even a chairman.    Eva Vestergaard was not a board member either.  The members were: Bodil Ross Soerensen, Bolette Gunst, Steen Conradsen, Finn Joergensen and Poul Joergensen.

Since preliminary charges  ("sigtelse" - grounds for police investigation) were made, all the board members have been removed by the authorities and the Humanitarian Foundation is no longer run by Tvind.

Among the key prosecution witnesses will be Hans le Cour, a former member of the Teachers Group now living in New Zealand.     Tvind has refused to cooperate with the police.   In August, encryption on Tvind computers was broken and police have since been reading messages and instructions said to have been sent by Amdi himself.      It is thought likely that the final police charges could extend well beyond the Humanitarian Foundation into other Tvind financial funds such as Faelleseje, and to many more millions of kroner.

Since the investigation began, Amdi Petersen is reported to have announced that Tvind will 'leave Denmark' within a couple of years, and many of its properties in Denmark are up for sale.

The police investigation is being conducted by Holstebro Police, led by Jens Kaasgaard.

Some news highlights:

Today a Danish government institution, Erhvervs- og Selskabsstyrelsen, decided to start a fullscale investigation of the three principal Tvind-foundations in Denmark. It's Tvinds commercial foundations called Flleseje, Estate and Thomas Brocklebank. These three foundations owns nearly all Tvinds buildings, ships, cars, computers and whatever in Denmark - the foundations that way has values for at least 300 million Danish Kroner, probably more. The government institution suspect the TG-leadership of the foundations to have run business like in the humanitarian foundation. It means giving money to themselves - directed by Amdi Petersen. The investigation shall be finished at latest by the end of this year. In the meantime the foundations is not allowed to make larger economic transactions.

Feb 8th, 2002:    New charges.    Police have given up charging Eva Vestergaard but added 4 more people to their list of suspects: The seven suspects are: Poul Jrgensen, Amdi Petersen, Bodil Ross Soerensen, Kirsten Larsen, Malene Gunst, Ruth Sejeroe Olsen and Steen Byrner. (according to Jyllands-Posten, Feb. 8th)

August 7th:  Computer codes broken.    The German encryption program Safeguard Easy has been broken by the Danish police. Today the police from the city Holstebro in Jutland presented evidence in court, that was provided after breaking the encryption on five out of sixteen computers that where seized April 25 this year.   Full story.

August 6th:     Tvind's big three foundations may be liquidated:   According to the Danish newspaper JydskeVestkysten, as quoted by Danish State Televison (DR-TV) teletext of this morning, the three central Danish Tvind foundations (Flleseje, Estate and Thomas Brocklebank) risk being terminated by the Danish authority Erhvervs- og Selskabsstyrelsen for failing to hand over their accounts for 2000. Deadline was July 1st, 2001. No explanation has been given by Tvind. The three foundations own the Danish Tvind ships, schools and real estate.

JydskeVestkysten can be found at http://www.jydskevestkysten.dk/

Their features on Tvind can be found at http://www.jv.dk/tema_oversigt.asp?type=Tvind

July 21st:  Update.    It seems like the police are lining up witnesses: for instance a top adviser to the Danish ministry for Inland Revenue, a professor Aage Michelsen, has to explain to the police why he at the same time helped the Tvind Trust Foundation and Steen Byrner a TG (maybe ex TG) member, will be forced to witness and explain how about 500.000 $ have landed in his bank account.

Poul Joergensen and the entire board of the Trust Foundation in question were sacked by Civilretsdirektoratet (an institution in the Home Office) and a new board appointed.     Poul Joergensen tried to steal a revealing document during a meeting in the Home Office.     The Police have not succeeded in decoding the encrypted material from the confiscated computers, Safeguard and PGP.

The police have about 80 big boxes with material from the raid in April and people from the Civilretsdirektorat will start examining them and the other commercial foundations of Tvind, which own buildings, ships and have a net capital of 120 million Danish crowns.    The board of these foundations are identical with the sacked board of the Humanitarian Foundation and the auditor, Erik Roemer Jensen from Odense in Denmark, has been fined 100.000 Danish crowns by a audit tribunal for neglecting his duties as the Tvind auditor through 25 years.                                              [BR, Denmark]

July 7, 2001:   Tax law expert questioned.   Aage Michelsen, professor of tax law at the University of Aarhus and advisor to the government, is being questioned by the police. He was a paid consultant to Poul Jrgensen and the Tvind foundation now being investigated for fraud. The police want information on his business relations with the foundation and they also want to know if he can be made liable for the illegal administration of the foundation.   (Berlingske Tidende)

June 29th, 2001:   Stolen document.    The police have new ammunition in their struggle to prove fraud and breach of trust for 70 million kroner in Tvind's humanitarian fund.    A document that Poul Jorgensen stole during a meeting with the Civil Courts for a few days ago can prove to be very damaging for Tvind.    [Note:   The document that was stolen by the ex-chairman during a meeting  with the Civil Court, contains extremely damaging information about the suspected fraudulent fund.]   full Berlingske Tidende story

June 26th:   Tvind board thrown out.     Latest news: The Danish authorities has forced the board in the fraud-suspected 75 million Danish kroner humanitarian fund to resign. Or more correct: The board with Poul Jrgensen as chairman has been thrown out.  The state will name new members of the board - people who have nothing to do with Tvind.

Has Amdi fled to Britain?

3rd June 2001:   Breaking news:   Mogens Amdi Petersen and two other Tvind leaders have fled Denmark and emigrated to Britain    -   Jyllands-Posten newspaper reports.      Danish tax experts say Petersen is probably trying to escape prosecution for tax evasion as British law on fraud and breach of trust is weaker.    Danish police have announced preliminary tax evasion and fraud charges against Petersen and three others following police raids in April.   Full story

The did not give their new address in Britain. Officially - although he never lived there - Amdi Petersen was registered on the address Skorkrvej 8 in Ulfborg-Vemb, where the big schoolcenter is located. Skorkrvej 8 is the official address for a lot of top-people from Teachers Group. Amdi and the the women are - together with Tvind-spoekeman Poul Jrgensen - the official target for the police investigation on tax-farud for 75 million kroner. Regards

May 21st:  Jyllands-Posten   (A short summary) No bananas are sold today from Belize in the supermarkets of 'Dansk Supermarked' in Denmark. The police is investigating the involvement of Tvind's Humanitarien Foundation giving support to objects that has nothing to do with the goal-clauses of the foundation.

May 20th:  (Jyllands-Posten)  (Short summary) The police is investigating whether 'Tvind' has committed tax-fraud for up to 75 million DK kroner, which comes from their humanitarien foundation. 'Jyllands-Posten' has tried to follow some of the money, one million dollars, which Tvind wanted to give to a project in Belize in Middle-America. The authorities in Belize declined the offer as they suspected that Tvind was only giving the money to itself through Sren Srensen, who is member of the teacher-group of 'Tvind'.

May 19th 2001:   A short translated summary of a Danish article in Jyllands-Posten,

----------------- A Special Labour Union in Denmark accuses Tvind of misusing their workers in the poor third world country Belize and are about to boycot the bananas, because the importer trades with Tvind. At the same time Tvind has tried to transfer 1 million dollars from their humanitarian foundation to a Danish farmer in Belize, who is connected to Tvind. (The article further tells how a lot of plantations in Belize are owned by farmers, who are members of Tvind and how they don't pay the their workers their deserved salaries and also prevent them, with treats of being expelled, to organise themselves in any kind of union.) ----------------

Wich means something like: Union in Dk accusing Tvind of exploiting workers in Belize in banana plantations - they are close to recommend boycott of bananas from certain importer (Irish firm). The article also links the police investigation against Tvind for tax fraud with the plantations and nature reservations in Belize, because Tvind had plans for "donatting 1 mill kr to a nature preservation project, which actually was refused by govt. in Belize.

Mon 14th May 2001    Correction:
It was in Ringkbing byret (city court), not Vestre Landsret i Viborg (one of the two country courts, sorry I dont know it in english). But the city court is the first instance and verdicts can be appealled to city courts in Copenhagen or Viborg. The last I heard was that Tvind had not decided yet to appeal or not.

Wed, 9 May 2001     Court in Viborg, Denmark rules recent police action legal and justified.
Also TV2 claims to have proof of fraud committed by Poul Jrgensen, this could lead to further accusations.

Encryption of Tvind computers

Tuesday May 1st   -    Comments by Tvind Alert reader

Danish police is having a hard trying to get in to the
Tvind computers, the manufacturer of the encryption
software used by Tvind on their now-confiscated
computers said that if the police had left the CPUs
online, his firm would have been able to access them
over the web, had the police gone to them with a
warrant. However, because the computers were taken
offline no one will now (supposedly) ever be able to
recover them. I browsed through the Tvind.dk website
today, they are offering a course to the public on
"data security with examples from the real
world".........

Encryption of Tvind computers

Monday, April 30th   -    Comments by Tvind Alert reader:    "in spite of all the efforts made by a big police force, I think Tvind has still a possibility of escaping. They are smart, very smart, also using all their international "hiding holes".   Right now, as I expected as to my knowledge about how Tvind hide information by using encryption of newest edition of not just internet messages but also ALL information saved on their hard disks - the police cannot break that information.

Again, the Danes may face that the State is not strong enough, opposing a parasite as Tvind. It is alarming. In fact, all Tvind activities ought be considered alarming by people defending democracy.  I hope the Danish police are well off, using their international network.

Well, for instance, as to the "simple" thing as data protection, back in 1995  I installed in my computer, as to directions by Tvind, an encryption system of a standard that was at that time not permitted by US authorities. To break down the encryption, two PC's of 386-type as twins would have to operate at least 6 months for breaking the code. So, how are Tvind's systems today? And, above all: Why the hell is it necessary for a charitable and educational institution to hide things to that extent?? Well, there can, of course, be given only one answer.  I understand companies like for instance a Danish windmill factory will hide its patents etc., - but a corporation of schools, charities????
