Computer recycling

This is a scheme by which Tvind 'begs' old computers for its 417 schools and colleges.   Among the companies which have given computer hardware and supported Tvind in this way are claimed to be:   Norsk Hydro, Volvo, Rank Xerox and Ericsson.   Full list below.

The computers have been sent by Tvind to 'development instructor colleges worldwide', and to named colleges in south Africa, China, Angola, Denmark and Zimbabwe.   In many cases, the computers are not destined to be used by teenagers in Africa, but by young people from Europe and the United States attracted to its training colleges.

The  digital school experience website links directly to Humana.    Its website is at:

http://www.digitalschoolexperience.org

Note:   other companies, unaffiliated to Tvind-Humana, also recycle computers for foreign development aid,. We recommend London based Computer Aid International http://www.computeraid.org which gives the hardware to recognised charities.
