Tvind assets: land, projects, children's homes,
teacher training colleges, a catering company,
oil company connections.
Multinational oil drilling companies such as Chevron are paying millions of dollars to Tvind in Angola. Tvind Alert has received detailed information from reliable sources in Angola - who work with NGOs there - about large sums of money being 'covertly' paid to ADPP (Tvind's southern African 'charity') by multinational oil companies. The money is paid by oil multinationals working in Angola in 'Social Bonus Fund' payments to Sonagol, the government-controlled Angolan oil company. Read the full story
A correspondent writes: "ADPP does three main things in Angola: teacher training (moderately well), health posts (extremely badly)........and income generating activities (moderately well).....There are strong indications that ADPP is very close to the allegedly corrupt Angolan government. Basically, they make things very easy for Sonangol and do more or less what Sonangol wants"

Volunteers, please send any information and stories about the quality of these programmes.
Children's school, Caxito, Bengo Province. This is where ADPP began in Angola in 1986. In May 2001 60 children were kidnapped by Unita guerillas. They were later found safe.
Quissala Orphans Village, Huambo province.
In July 2000 21 boys were abducted . Both of these kidnappings have
been curiously omitted from the
homepage of ADPP Angola. Link: www.reliefweb.int

Nick's story
Nick Moss, a young British student, travelled to Angola
with ADPP in 1996 after several months with Tvind in Norway.
He almost died of malaria. He was so appalled at the
lack of care for volunteers in a dangerous situation and the poor
organisation of the 'project' that he wrote this account.
Does Oxfam give money to ADPP Angola (as ADPP claim?)
