Tvind assets: Humana shops, clothes collection boxes, sorting centre, volunteer recruitment.
Latest news:
Oct 2003: Complaint to German Youth Service. 'Hellen Adler' <hellenadler@web.de> has posted a complaint about Tvind schools on a German web site, and the complaint has been widely circulated among the German youth service. Read it here in English.
April 2002: German Tvind TG member Jochen Schaffer has been killed in a robbery near the Tvind plantation in Brazil. See reports in Guest book.
Humana has a huge presence in Germany, collecting and selling old clothes and recruiting volunteers for its colleges. It also advertises its schools for children in Denmark widely in German on the Internet. Despite being listed as a cult by several cult watchdog groups, its activity is unchallenged by local authorities, police or government.
Berlin journalist Frank Nordhausen has written a detailed account of Tvind in his book, Psycho- Sekten. Die Praktiken der Seelenfänger, and has also chronicled the growth of Tvind in a series of newspaper articles.

Humana collects clothes in Stuttgart, Ulm, Cologne, Berlin and many other parts of Germany. There are three Humana companies in Germany.
Humana Kleidung für Entwicklung Gemeinnützige GmbH
("Humana Clothes for Development") A charity.
("Humana Clothes Collection", a private limited company (plc)?)
Humana Second-Hand-Kleidung GmbH
("Humana Second-Hand-Clothing", plc)
A correspondent writes: "Each area of Collection (i.e. Stuttgart, Ulm, Cologne, Berlin...) has an area manager ('Gebietsleiter'), who is responsible for organising the collection, hiring drivers and people for the repair shops, packing, someone for managing the drivers and someone to find new places for the collection bins and maintaining contact with the owners of these places. These area managers have a 5-year contract, and as far as I've heard, not everyone stays with Humana after that. All job offerings in the areas are published in Newspapers, so I've come to believe that everyone below the area-management is coming from the outside, i.e. has no previous contacts to Tvind.
"But here is something for you to look up: a part of the collected clothes is being sold to Romania and, I think, Belorussia. The Sales Agent is Janice Jane of Garson & Shaw Ltd., London."
Further separate companies?
Berlin Humana, Koepenickerstrasse 45, Mrs Monika Muesson
Cologne Humana, Herman Segerstrasse 33 mr. Moin Rizvi/mr. Neil
