How to stop them? I have experience from their Swedish UFF organisation. I was employed but was fired after 2 weeks Reason. I was asking to many questions about their humanitarian work in Africa a continent that I have 25 years experience from. I am ready to work active to stop their operations in the Stockholm region. omex@telia.com
how about submitting your story
Hmm - now we have looked at the same old "stories" (Steen's, Else's, Nick's whatever their names are - the "witnesses") for months. Haven't you been able to dig any new "stories" (read:dirt) up? As far as I can tell, most of the tens of thousands of people who have been involved with Tvind have had good expereiences. Why are their "stories" not represented anywhere on this website? Because you'd hate to admit that Tvind actually does a lot of good?

I've worked in ADPP Angola. I can't speak to any of these accusations of hidden accounts or Teacher's Group brain washing, all I can say is I never saw anything to support that in my 14 months. All I want to say is that the claim that ADPP does not work with other NGOs is untrue (at least in ADPP Angola.) During the time I worked there, we worked with several other NGOs including the World Food Program and UNICEF. As far as I could tell, the work done by ADPP was appreciated and respected by other NGOs, the Government in Angola and the people who received the aid. That's all...
After reading this site for a while it is very clear that it is nothing more then a "hate site". The aim must "justify the means" and a lot of the so called facts are far from the truth. The "bad experiences" are pointed out and do not represent what the vaste majority of the people involved in the so called "Tvind activities" thinks. It could easily be proven, but most people rather like to work for something good instead of fighting something that they don't like.
It is interesting to compare the aim of the people running this site with for example the aims of some of the "Travelling Folkhigh schools" and the aim of people dedicated to run them?
All people out there that wants to do something good with your life, try TVIND!
I think that the Teacher Group are doing a lot of good work.
hi i think that is fantastic what we can do with Humana together. I'm very glad , because i was looking for somethink like this all my 24 years and i know that always somethink independent and alternative provoce a people to fight against people whant sleep with closed eyes they are afraid when thinks are different check yourself try i meet here a lot of great people which want to do somethink good adn we will see you soon
It's difficult to get on with your life and ignore the fact that many other young people are too be exploited by Tvind projects and that people donating money in good faith to Tvind's projects are being ripped off. This money could be given to bonafide charities, who DO invest in appropriately run projects in Africa and beyond.

In response to the questions posed by Ffyona - yes, it is certainly intended to create a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page and this will be done as time allows. Ffyona's will be the first questions on the page.
My name is Marc.Im from Scotland and have just completed the 14 months program in the school in norway.I was beaten, raped hourly, forced to have sex in a stifling hot sauna with a sheep and not given any food apart from onions for the full 14 months.
Good now I hope that I have got everyones attention. What i have just said is total shite, but i dare say that some of the narrow minded idiots who are in the tvind alert group would have believed it.
Now for the people who come to this site with half a brain I will tell very shortly my story. Once Ive finished I will leave my email address, unlike some prats who can give nasty, unfounded comments and cant actually argue there stupid fucking point.
The 6 months preparation period in norway can be tough.Like many things in life. You have to go on the streets and fundraise for children in Africa, which as you can imagine is tough in a country as cold as Norway. You meet lots of interesting people from around the world and do lots of fun stuff together(thats in between the brain washing).
After I spent 6 months in scandinavia,i headed to Zambia to spend another 6 months of my life working with orphaned children in a childrens town.I helped educate the children and i spent aload of time just trying to give these children some love and some of my time (of course i did this in my spare time, the rest of the time was when i would try and brain wash these poor defensless kids).
Now that i am back in Scotland after my 6 months in the Zambian bush.I feel that i can say that the traveling high schools and humana do good work, they may make mistakes but so does everyone.
Feel free to get in touch with me if you want to ask any questions about my experience. marcjosephgray@hotmail.com

How can we do more to bring down this sick, abusing organisation. The fundamental problem is this: For young idealists who wish to aid third world/poorer countries, the varied programmes offered by Tvind and linked organisations, appear ideal. The experiences these young people then get are good ones, they travel to Africa, Asia etc and in their work they feel they are really doing something worthwhile - makes them feel good etc. How do we convince these young dreamers that in fact, not only is their trust being abused but the people they are helping are being abused as they do not get the monies raised for them, it goes to the elite at Tvind.
I speak on behalf of 10 former employees of a Tvind linked organisation. We all had an excelllent, rewarding time, we were a little unique because we did affect change in people's lives without damaging them directly (Steen Thomsen will guess who this is and where we worked) and it was definetly without doubt the best three years of mine and my friends lives. However, as rational intelligent people,( we are aware that tvind made much money from this work) we are angry at this organisations abuse of young people, poor people and young dreamers who genuinely want to make the world a better place.
HOW CAN WE STOP THEM DEVELOPING CAN WE MEET, I KNOW MANY PEOPLE INTERESTED GOOD LUCK STEEN THOMSEN

Fyona, I guess you will get some info from this website itself, in the paragraph "Who are the creators of Tvind Alert?"? Perhaps Michael Durham will add more information re. your next questions? To myself and numerous other present and past Tvind people, this website represents a long time needed possibility of sharing experience about the Tvind Cult. For the first time ever, in the entire history of Tvind, this is possible. The reason: When inside the Teachers' Group, all proper discussion about goals and means is impossible. And when outside, after having escaped the TG, you are usually deprived of the necessary mental and financial power for bringing your precious, personal experience to other people. Tvind has in its power to run websites en masse - just ensure yourself by searching the net for a couple of minutes. Tvind is operating very cleverly, using the Net for approaching people all over the world; people who do not have ANY knowledge about the secret agendas and the power structure of Tvind. They do not know what just about any Scandinavian knows about Tvind. How should they know? How should former Tvind people forward their experiences if not via a website like Tvind Alert? Thank you to the people behind this website, and hoping that you carry on:
A former Tvind member.
I would like to ask some questions: Who is in charge of this website? What is the purpose of this website? How do you verify your sources? What are the criteria for what information you include on the website? How do you know that the information you publish here is accurate? Do you reject "positive" stories? It would be nice if you set up a FAQ. You could start off by answering these questions. Thanks.

Simon, for real info about working for Humana, look up www.uff.dk/di
Use your senses and your brain and you'll be OK.
Dear Simon03. 1) You read this website. 2) You talk to people who have been there 3) The rest is obvious..

Help, I have need of information on "humana people to peolpe". I have a contact for a job with that organization, but I have many question. what do I? Thanks
simon03@libero.it
It is many people that are in involved in the activities mentioned on this site as "bad" and really like it! Makes me sad that some are dedicated to be against when development and improvements in this world are created by people working together. That is, in my opinion, what the so called "Tvind organization" is doing
I am following your web site, and the comments from friends who have been with me or on the other side of the cult. I have been now for three years with the organization and still there. You are doing very well but that is not enough, it is something but not enough. Now days your site has been system of brain washing for them they are boasting they have opponents, they have money and they have system and the third one is you, you will stop them or they will destroy you. Therefore, your expected to do a lot. You have to able to indicate other organization who can do better so the people who want to do good will have other choice. You need to have kind of petition signing to the governments where tvind operates to stop or to improve their action. A lot has been said but more things are happening not only trading by the name of poor African people but also exporting young Africans to Europe by the cover of Scholarship to sale news papers in the Street of Europe. I shall not say a lot this time as i am still with them but sooner or later i will join you.
I think Tvind is good!
When my son said he wanted to join the California Campus TG, I thought it was a great idea, suited for his dreams and talents. I checked out their very well done web sites, and then tried to go deeper. The UN does not have them (in any form of their organization) listed as a NGO in Africa. I thought that was strange and then I found this site...if only a small portion of what you say is true, it is a pity, for Tvind, or any sub group of it, really has its pitch geared up for the ideals of some of today's youth. I just couldn't figure why they wanted so much money AND all that work, to boot. Not a common feature for volunteer organizations that I have ever been a part of in my life.
Can any current members point to some credible organization outside their own that supports the efforts of Tvind, Inc.?
Dear people,
Once a time i too was intending on joining up with DNS. The people seemed friendly and so was the atmosphere. Of course they told me about the rumours going around in Denmark and Scandinavia, but i totally lacked that. After deciding that i would enroll myself i hitchhiked my way back home to say bye to my parents and my friends and all. It was during this trip back home that i discovered that Tvind would not be healthy for me. Literally all the Danish people i spoke to on my way back home were so very negative about Tvind, it shocked me and their opinion really did make sense. How can you live and work in a country where nearly all people around you respond to Tvind in a dead negative way ?! This way you are urged to stick with your own Tvind-people and not having positive contacts with your fellow inhabitants. This is not only the case in Denmark but in all of Scandinavia. And i believe that it's up to one's personality if you are able to manage the collective way of living. It's not my way of living. Yet, being there really makes you forget all about that, it's the adventure that counts. Make sure you don't romanticize the idea. I reckon that some people will find their home in this organisation and will have a good time. Yet, if you are a highly individualistic, longing also for an intellectual challenge, my advice is not to join up. But then again, i haven't been in it for real..only an introduction. It's really what i have been told and the little that i have seen. I say go up to an introduction weekend and see for yourself...be critical....ask questions....towards Tvind as well as to yourself......You may also try my method to hitchhike your way back home and listen to what the Danish folks have to tell you about Tvind. I think there are lies coming from both sides. Focus yourself in first instance on the practical matters. Good luck !

I wish I had red this page before volunteering,,
What are your hoping to achieve by having this web site ?
What the fuck is this crap? You guys must have twisted minds to set up a website like this - talk about brain washing!
Thank you much for this wonderful job. I am very proud of you. I think that tvind is like a mafia. stolen the poor people and the young Europeans, Chinese, Japanise and Australians. I spent one year in this organization and I learn lot about: brain washing, corruption(they directly with the local autority for privileges and others contracts) dictature......... In their privite school in Africa: kindergarten, primary school and other, I can testifie that only the wealthy people could send their kids. The rest of the population cannot pay. They sale clothes collected in Europe, putting the local clothing industry in very diffucult situation.
hey, thank you for all of your responses. I will be going to Norway, but my family and friends will keep a close eye one me. As for the last email, I definitely would like to hear more from you. You can reach me at my addy: secretbutterfly8@hotmail.com
Secretbutterfly, We have been in Norway, on the top of the mountain together, we survived, we enjoyed, we cried, we laughed, we loved it. Most of this page is a total crap of narrow-minded people. If you want me to tell you more, contact me through this

If people are nothing, how come Humana People to Peopple has launcehd the most ambitious and sensible project yet to eradicate AIDS in Africa?
Tvind is a global company, money is everything people arer nothing.... Stay away !..
hi, to all x cicd people, in this guest book there are messages written about how good tvind is and then from others how bad tvind is, some of you are calling others names, which is immature whatever ur feelings are. i am an x-cicd gal and while i agree with alot of what everyone says,on one side: good times, meet fantastic people, amazing experiences, the reality of it is what should be taken in.... and what should over rule everyother thought is that of helping people. THIS IS NOT DONE. even if it is only 2% of the aid money that HUMANA TVIND CICD ETC raise, they take for private gain, then this is bad and should be stopped never mind the huge amount they are actually taking from the fundraising. enough things bad in the world. is this not enough to make u all leave and stop (i believe in someways) following tvind for your own selfish happiness.(as i have myself experienced the warmth at times and the closness of everyone within the groups) maybe i am wrong but the facts are the facts with the money that is in tvind they could help aid Africa properly and not just hide their multi million business behind the guise of a charity. the lowest form of disgrace. that again is my opinion bye. Clare
Hi - great site, just wish I had found it before my friend went to Denmark to one of these dodgy schools. Luckily she's back home now.
I finally fled from Mozambique a month before time, at 5am one morning we headed to Zimbabwe, where at least communication was easier (we were never really taught portuguese) and I knew there was transport, accommodation and banks. My roommate who left with me had no access to any funds other than the money we had saved from our pocket money in Moz. which we had to change on the black market.
Thereafter I had a wonderful time discovering six southern african countries, funded by my credit card, which took me months to pay off. My year with Tvind cost me more than a year's salary - in excess of 10,000. I had to buy myself a flight home, forfeiting my flight back to Denmark - having no reason to go back there...
I discovered shortly after leaving Moz that the rest of the team I had gone out with, all quit within a week of eachother - non of us aware that the others had left. Thank goodness for email and internet cafes in even the remotest places! We met up in Zambia and shared our experiences, each experience shocked and worried us even more...
The year was full of major ups and downs. I reflect on the long days and meetings we had in Denmark. As SW's we weren't at the heart of Tvind's business by any stretch of the imagination, but we were party to the stresses and strains of people who live the Tvind way. We were invited to join the T.G, with promises of work in Hong Kong and USA. Even after I left and was back in Europe working, I recieved a phone call asking if I would like to teach in their Fri-skole (I am not a qualified teacher). They were trying to sink their claws into me even after I had accused them of being Racist Neo-colonialist Communists!
Stong people in a close clued-up team can have a positive result. S.W's can volunteer without getting sucked in, but you have to keep your wits about you. All may not be as it seems. Whatever your experience the one thing in common, is you will never work so hard in all your life as you will for Tvind.
If you want to be a volunteer - go with VSO or Peace Corps - at least they say positive things about their experiences. And their asking for qualified people is a positive thing, don't be put off.
I hope my insight is of interest. This website backs up a number of the experiences and stories I have heard about Tvind. When I did visit Tvind itself for the African Conference of 1998, I was disturbed with the army like barracks and the strength of the Tvind teachers. I know I had a more laid back and enjoyable time than those at Tvind. We could say "No" to our teachers. Maybe that's why we were the last team of S.W's to go to our school. We had a too easy time of it.
My last comments, are that the ADPP projects in Africa, are run to less than professional standards, and I would never work with them again.
My response to my experience is to train as a Development specialist and go back to Mozambique.I will find an employer to do a better job than ADPP, and give the locals the services they require. Not meet quotas as ADPP projects do, building to inferior quality and care - eg. wells and latrine construction.
Thank you for an opportunity to express my experiences. Good luck to all those affected by Tvind.
How to stop them? I have experience from their Swedish UFF organisation. I was employed but was fired after 2 weeks Reason. I was asking to many questions about their humanitarian work in Africa a continent that I have 25 years experience from. Good luck !
If you want me to tell you more, contact me through this
guestbook.
Because you'd hate to admit that Tvind actually does a lot of good?
haveing worked 4 PLANET AID UK in northampton and seen first hand the arrogant and underhanded aproach and attitude 2 people and clothes collection i found your site most informative. from Stan..stantheman1@uk.dreamcast.com

This money could be given to bonafide charities, who DO invest in appropriately run projects in Africa and beyond.
john.
get on whit your lifes, the parst is the parst

E luta continua: The struggle goes on. The struggle for people in need ? Or for Mogens Amdi Petersen' power? Are you really sure what you are fighting for?
Thanks.
Ffyona
Simon, for real info about working for Humana, look up www.uff.dk/di
Use your senses and your brain and you'll be OK.
