The story of 'Humana Alert'
This web site was launched as an amateur investigation by London-based journalist Mike Durham in late 1999, and first published on the Internet as Tvind Alert. It was prompted by the decision of the UK Charity Commission to close down Humana UK and two Tvind schools. The original aim was to solve the mystery - what is Tvind? You can read an article about the site here.
In 2004 the British Internet company hosting the site removed it from the web under legal pressure from Simon Lichtenberg of Trayton holdings in China, a senior Teachers Group member widely believed to be Tvind's 'crown prince' and next leader. The site was transferred to Denmark, where Internet libel law is different. It is now owned for legal reasons by author and journalist Frede Farmand, and hosted by the Internet hosting company TDC.
TDC has supported the site and in June 2006 successfully overturned a new attempt in the Danish courts by Lichtenberg and another businessman, Jonas Israel, to have the site closed.

So why do we do it?
Good question. Justice and fair play. Transparency and openness. A compulsion to get to the bottom of things. An obsession with detail. A desire to share our knowledge with the rest of the world. And it's an amazing story.
