The Tvind Colleges
A-Z of Tvind (DRH)
Colleges in seven countries
A-Z
of Tvind Teacher Training (DNS) Colleges
Tvind
runs 15 controversial training colleges throughout the world, including three in the USA, one in Britain, and others in China, South
Africa, India, the Caribbean, Norway and Denmark. You can see a full list here.
The colleges invite people to enrol for courses on volunteering. Students have to pay in advance. The idea is that people attend the colleges and then work as 'Development Instructors' at Tvind's own 'humanitarian projects' abroad.
Soon after
they arrive, students find that a big part of
the course is to go out collecting money on the streets from strangers -
so-called 'fundraising'.
All these colleges teach Tvind's supposed
philosophy ('solidary humanism') but - so many students say - not
much else. All the Teachers went to a
Tvind college themselves and are the products of the same
system - most are in the Teachers Group.
