Winestead
Hall ENGLAND
Winestead
Hall, near Hull, is now the College for International Co-operation and
Development (CICD), one of Tvind's 15 'development instructor' colleges.
Students pay large sums in advance fees, but find that a large part of
the term is spent begging for money on the streets of British towns.
Until 1998, Winestead Hall was used as a Tvind Small School for emotionally disturbed teenagers. This school was closed down in January 1998 after an investigation by the Charity Commission and social care agencies found that standards of care were dangerously low, and amid allegations of financial fraud. The head teacher, Steen Thomsen, resigned from the Teachers Group and publicly stated that Tvind is a cult
Tvind is now once again offering care for emotionally disturbed teenagers at Winestead, under a new name. So far only one child has been placed, and social service agencies are investigating.
Winestead Hall is owned by a Tvind offshore company in Jersey, Argyll Smith, to whom it pays a high rent - a convenient way to keep money within the Tvind economy.
