Ake Pecha International School

Virginia, USA

Tvind school for emotionally disturbed children, closed down by state authorities in the mid-1980s after complaints about professional standards.  Tvind Alert has received detailed accounts from former volunteers, describing their experiences of the cult like atmosphere and allegations of financial fraud.

Marianna's story

Britta's story

Britta worked at Ake Pecha in the 1980s, but fled in the middle of the night after she found she had joined a cult.     "I joined Tvind in 1976, because I had a very strong desire to do something in order to fight for a better world ........[finally] I realised the Teachers Group is a sect - just like Moon Movement, Jehovah's Witnesses, Scientology. There is no difference."
