Who owns the IICD property? The IICD property is believed to be owned by a company called AS Properties, run by US-based members of the Teachers Group. If a pattern established at other Tvind establishments is followed, AS properties (one arm of Tvind) charges a high rent to the college (run by another arm of Tvind). This disturbingly close relationship (allowing a Tvind Teachers Group company to charge commercial rents and make a profit at the expense of a supposed Teachers Group charity) has already led to complaints and unrest among groups of students. Compare the name AS Properties with
Argyll Smith, an offshore company in the Channel Islands. A
similar, secret, commercial relationship between Winestead Hall in
the UK and Argyll Smith in the 1990s led to the closure of Winestead
Hall by the UK Charity Commission in 1998.
