Austria
Clothes collections
Humana has had a long legal dispute with the city of Vienna over clothes collection boxes. The city of Vienna had a contract with Humana to collect clothes but cancelled it in around 1998 and told them they no longer had the right to place clothes collection boxes on public property. Humana took some boxes away but left others standing. The city started to remove the boxes which were left. However, a court later ruled that the city is not allowed to remove them. Humana still has many boxes in Vienna, but outside the cities, Humana is hardly known at all.
The Humana company in Austria is Humana Österreich. The Area Manager in Austria, with responsibility for some other parts of Europe including Slovenia, is Katerina Feldman [2002]. She is not believed to be in the Teachers Group.
Humana Österreich recently attempted legal action against Friedrich Griess for libel. The action was dropped in mid-2002.
