Soya bean restaurants
A reader writes: By the way, re: Botswana soya restaurants- does Humana use G.M. beans? I recall reading that some countries in Southern Africa refuse entry to G.M. food even as famine aid.
http://www.WISHH.org/about/WISHH_report_2002.pdf This is where the soya comes from. It appears to be a humanitarian site but in reality it is a marketing front for U.S. soya farmers. See-Fall 2000,Summer 2001,Winter 2002 and "On the Horizon". Almost certainly all G.M.
Re; Botswana and soya- the organisations behind WISHH are: American Soybean Association, Soybean Research and Development Council and United Soybean Board(motto:"make your checkoff pay off"). www.thedailysoyclub.com for 10 June 2003 mentions Paradigmgenetics which is evidently involved in GM.( http://paradigmgenetics.com). Soyclub site has good internal search engine powered by Google. WISHHlist for July 2003 (via website) says Humana in Botswana is involved with Govt. 's National Food Technology Research Centre.
